Business Development – Direct Sales

The Business Development – Direct Sales Specialist will spend a portion of their time being responsible for taking calls, qualifying opportunities, and engaging prospects already interested in our capabilities. They will also be responsible for using their time to generate leads and identify new client opportunities that align with Wild Blue’s suite of capabilities. The Business Development – Direct Sales Specialist must use their relationship-building and closing skills to convert prospects into clients. The ideal candidate will have an open mindset, willing to step outside their comfort zone and understand that each day will present a new challenge and an opportunity to help solve problems. The more they put in, the more they will get out.

Onboarding Training Period for the Position:

The Business Development – Direct Sales Specialist will spend their initial onboarding training period working with the Business Development
Director, Department Heads, and Client Services Team to learn Wild Blue’s client profile, core competencies, agency workflow, and sales processes.
The initial onboarding training period could last up to 12-months from the date of hire and will depend on the amount of prior “in-industry”
experience the selected candidate has in business development and their aptitude to understand not only our unique clientele but our creative and
custom-build offerings as well. As the Business Development – Direct Sales Specialist transitions out of their onboarding training period, they will
then be expected to spend their time developing a pipeline of qualified opportunities, converting sales, and hitting financial targets. Following
successful completion of the onboarding training period (approximately 12-months from hire date), the commission structure for this role will
begin.

Primary Responsibilities (following successfully completing the initial onboarding training period):

  • Perform traditional sales prospecting and cold calling while participating and responding to marketing-generated inbound leads.
  • Effectively communicate Wild Blue’s unique value proposition.
  • Understand prospective client’s business needs and convey related experience.
  • Research prospects, qualify, prepare, and deliver agency pitches.
  • Collaborate with the internal teams to define scopes of work and budgets.
  • Preparation of agency proposals, presenting, follow-up, and closing.
  • Working in tandem with client services to write creative briefs and conduct new client/project kick-offs.
  • Collaborate with the internal marketing team to convert industry sales insights into actionable marketing strategies.
  • Schedule tours and conduct capability demonstrations.
  • Generate and maintain a high volume of qualified sales opportunities.
  • Misc. duties as assigned by the Leadership Team.

Must Have Skills & Experience:

  • 3 to 5-years of agency experience or equivalent years of experience working in a creative customer engagement role.
  • Proven experience in sales (preferably in design, print, technology, and environments) is desirable but not required.
  • Effectively understand and communicate client needs.
  • Must be proficient in Zoom, Teams, Slack, Microsoft Office, Mac OS, Keynote, Adobe Acrobat, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Experience with Salesforce is a plus.
  • Self-driven, entrepreneurial mindset, managing ambiguity.
  • Proactive and productive with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to reconcile client requests with opportunity space.
  • Have a friendly and professional manner during calls and meetings.
  • Experience with CRM is a plus.
  • Effectively express ideas verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to identify opportunities to exceed client expectations.
  • Persistent positive attitude.
  • Ambition to build a career within the organization.
  • A passion for technology, problem-solving, and the impact of design.
